Indian Railways has begun to expedite the automatic signalling system along the rails inorderto prevent a head on collission between two trains moving into each other.
The automatic signalling system is intended to prevent a possible collission between two trains by activating the signalling system.
Multiple trains can remain in one block section due to Automatic Block Signaling (ABS) system. The ABS is so designed as to operate trains safely and efficiently in the Auto territory. As a consequence, line capacity is increased. The operational costs are much reduced. The seamless movement of trains is facilitated across busy routes.
According to the source, Millennium Automation Private Limited (MAPL) has been awarded the tender to implement EI-based (Electronic Interlocking) Automatic Signalling.
