Supreme Court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi CM, in corruption linked to Excise case today. The bail was subjected to a condition that Kejriwal will not speak publicly about the case. A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan pulled up the investigating agency saying that Kejriwal was arrested only after bail had been granted to him in the PMLA case, making it clear that although the arrest was legal, yet malafide.
The apex court called the invetigating agencies the caged parrot. The bench also remarked that long incarcerations amount to denial of justice.
