IC 814 Air India plane, the ill-fated bird, had among its passengers a RAW spy called Navin kumar Singh. His name was not on the list of passengers announced officially. Mystery shrouds the identity of this ghost passenger. Indian officials had withheld his name without citing any reason whatsoever.
Now, Netflix has released on its OTT a webseries named IC 814-The Kandahar Hijack reliving those moments worse than a cliff hanger. Had the hijackers any inkling of the man, he won’t have been spared alive. Anubhav Sinha, director of the web series, is unable to defend his decision to give the hijackers a Hindu name in the web series. I&B Ministry called Netflix boss to capitulate. Netflix has agreed to show the real names of the hijackers on the screen. However, that the hijackers had indeed called themselves by Hindu names is a matter of probe. It will become clear in near future. That people will not let this conspiracy go without holding to Netflix a mirror is evident from the unwavering support from across the nooks and corners. Kandahar hijack is still the Achilles’ heel for the BJP every election. The then PM late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the then foreign minister late Jaswant Singh had to give in to pressure from within. The hijackers’ conditions were accepted. The opposition got a stick to beat the BJP with.
