India Will Never Be Like China or Singapore

India can never be as progressive or rich as China or Singapore. These words were once said by Lee Kuan Yew, the legendary leader of Singapore who built that country to its zenith. Singapore today is a marvel of all one can imagine filled with colours and fruits of hard work over the years. I have always secretly desired to meet this man in the heaven.
What he said serves a humble recall that India is so hopelessly diverse that the very fact of holding together for long is an achievement. A tamil or a Bengali leader can’t think beyond the population of his people unlike china where Han form more than 80% of the population pulling along a society which is homogenous in every possible sense. India is so diverse that the best leaders are not able to pull along more than a miniscule of the population. Take parliamentary democracy for example. The leaders elected from a corner of the country are sometimes at throat of another kind of leaders elected from another corner of the country. Mind is monster of the leaders whose criminal bent of mind in one state is a virtue. There is another state where humility is virtue.
