Parliament-Special-Session-1-300x202 Opp Demand For Special Parliament Session Over Op Sindoor Is Correct But Without PrecedentOpposition parties insistence on special session of the Indian Parliament in the wake of Operation Sindoor is quite correct to my mind. However, to say that it has a precedence in the times of Nehru is bogus. Operation Sindoor was a successful mission achieved only and only because of the indomitable spirit and untold display of valour by our armies doing India yet again proud. That said, the opposition parties have their own narrative to share with the Indian government which is not shy of flaunting their credit. Although it is not binding on the indian government to accept the request, the opposition have already started their comparison with Nehru’s call for special session of the then Parliament for the sake of a comparison with Modi. Whether Modi bites the bait remains to be seen. I believe that the Govt will do much better to agree. If it disposes the Opp proposal, the ruling party may not lose a single voice but then there is a thing called propriety, already thrown out of the Sansad long ago into the dustbin.

Whether it can start a new chapter of bipartisanship is too obvious to take a call especially in view of Rahul Gandhi’s repeated unapologetic slander heaped on PM Modi by falsely quoting US President Donald Trump as having called Modi’s surrender. The lies and slanders are new normal in the dictionary of Congress yuvaraj. The ruling dispensation has not helped itself either by denying them any audience.
