Pager ‘Chipped’ In By Mossad ‘Explodes’ Hezbollah

Pager looks innocuous becuse it is indeed innocuous. But Mossad played a bit and turned it into an explosive. Israel’s tech prowess has few parallels. Legends and folklores are not made of thin air. Pager is pre-mobile handset of early decade.
Iran’s proxy Hezbollah had placed an order of 5,000 beepers with Taiwan-based Gold Apollo. The Hezbollah militants communicate with each other only through pagers. Pagers are radio devices and not the normal mobiles. The messages through pagers can’t be intercepted. The devices had been modified “at the production level.” It is not clear as yet what modification meant. There comes in the Mossad, the legendary intelligence wing of Israel. It got planted a small amount of explosives called PETN inside 5,000 pagers by injecting a board inside of the device that has explosive material that is trigerred by a code.
The chipped-in pagers were shipped into Lebanon in the spring. Just when Hezbollah avenged the death of its senior leaders by droning deep into Israel killing scores of them, eerie silence was conspicuous like a lull before storm. 3,000 of the pagers exploded when a coded message was sent to them, simultaneously activating the explosives. The pagers had made a Beep Beep before exploding.
Although the order was placed with Taiwanese company, yet the pagers detonated in Lebanon yesterday were found to have been procured from a Hungarian company in Budapest. Strangely, the company doesn’t have any employee on its board. The CEO, whoever he is, has never been seen by any of his/her online contacts as if he were a flying ghost in the guise. As if not enough, the CEO’s home address has been traced to Soviet era residential apartments.
